There has been a lot of chatter about social media and whether is works for small businesses. I am in the mindset that if I have the opportunity to engage with someone that I would not have been able to connect with without using social media applications (ie twitter , linkedin , facebook ), than it's worth it.
I agree with the critics that say that social media is time consuming. That is the whole point. You are giving people your time and that is what makes social media so different. It is allow people to communicate with you on a completely different level. When a customer is really pleased with your product or service they have an opportunity to communicate this message to you and allow your other customers to view this testimonial/recommendation.This works both ways, a person also has the ability to compain about your product or service. Some may view this as a negitive thing, but in reality, if you take the time to fix the problem, where everyone can see it, then you have not only satisfied one customer, but distled trust to all your other customers. They now know that if they had a problem with your product or service, it would be taken care of immediately and done right.
Here are some great tools to show you how you are doing with Twitter and what people are saying about you.
We would love to hear from you! Connect with us on Twitter or Linkedin!
